All the juicy tidbits that make me.... well, me!
1. I met Hubby at work. We were both in failing relationships at the time. After I ended mine (having nothing to do with him), I, well, asked him out and sort of helped him decide to end his, too.
2. I sort-of, kind-of feel guilty about that. But it seems to have worked out for everyone in the end. And I don’t think she ever knew about me anyway.
3. I was born in Jacksonville, FL but have also briefly lived in Colorado, North Caroline, Utah and Virginia.
4. I lived in Colorado for the longest, 4 years during elementary school. I still search the internet and facebook for my best friend from that time-period. UPDATE! I found her!
5. I refuse to eat meat off the bone. UPDATE! I went ahead and just gave it up altogether. Mostly.
6. I’m writing this at work and the fire alarm has been going off for 10 minutes. There is no fire. Only stupid people.
7. I used to have a recurring dream about a house fire. Also, one in which I fall into the canal behind my grandparent’s house and get attacked by a gator.
8. My grandparent’s house has always been a constant in my life. Sort-of a safe haven for me. I don’t know what will happen to it when they’re gone. I would buy everyone in the family out if I could.
9. I am afraid to go upstairs in their house by myself. There is a room full of dolls up there. That might explain it.
10. I used to absolutely love scary movies. Then I saw The Ring and even though I covered my eyes for the final scene, I can’t handle them anymore. At least not if there are dead children in them.
11. I have to break the rules a little bit. I guess I have a problem with authority.
12. When I was 11, I thought I saw a ghost. I'm not sure if I really believe in them or not. All I know is that I don't really want to know one way or the other...
13. I was once “anointed by the Holy Spirit” at a church. I pretended to faint like everyone else.
14. When I wasn’t involved in non-denominational churches with my dad, I was attending the Mormon Church with my mom and grandparents. I desperately wanted to feel something somewhere, but I didn’t.
15. I have issues with organized religion, and to be honest, I don’t know what I believe in anymore. I don’t think I’m Christian, but I still pray to Jesus out of habit. Also, just in case… Mostly, I feel that it's more important to be a good person and to believe in something other than yourself.
16. Even though I’m no longer Mormon, I get offended when other people make fun of or disrespect the Church.
17. I cannot go to the beach, or anywhere outside for that matter, without wearing sunscreen. And then, during the summer months, I have to reapply every hour or I turn into a tomato.
18. I once had someone (at the beach) ask me if I glowed in the dark.
19. That being said, I’m 27 (at the time I wrote this) and just last year was finally confident enough to wear shorts and skirts during the summer.
20. I have only dated 5 guys in my life. I married two of them. That sounds so lame.
21. Not at the same time, of course. The first one was probably a cheater and most definitely a liar.
22. We were really just too young to have been married, but I can't help but hope that karma bites him in the ass anyway.
23. After marrying my now Hubby, we honeymooned in the Smokey Mountains. I would choose the mountains over the beach any day.
24. I am addicted to reality TV. The dumber the better.
25. And chocolate.
26. And Diet Dr. Pepper/Cherry Zero.
27. I have never smoked a cigarette in my life.
28. My first alcoholic drink was a screwdriver. I was at my Mormon friend’s house.
29. This same friend and I once skipped part of church to walk down the street to Burger King. It was owned by our Bishop at the time. We, of course, got caught.
30. I attract weirdo’s (not you, honey!). I have had two complete strangers expose themselves to me and have been sexually harassed at every job I’ve ever had.
31. In hindsight, I should have kicked the strangers in the balls and reported the guys from work. Or at least had the guts to tell them to back-off.
32. I am a complete and utter klutz, but somehow still a natural at sports?
33. I regularly trip over my own feet and walk into walls.
34. I once fell down the stairs while touring Flagler College. We were at the end of a big group and I lost my footing at the top of the stairs and went sliding down on my butt. Apparently the group parted like the Red Sea and I just went right through everyone.
35. I attended one semester at Florida State. I left because I was in love. That was stupid.
36. I plan to go back to school when Haeden is a little older. For now, I don’t want to miss one second more of him than I already have to.
37. I have no idea what I want to study. I feel like it would be smart to stay with the company I work for, but I don’t really have a corporate kind of mindset.
38. Being a mom has been the most rewarding and challenging adventure I’ve ever experienced.
39. I miss being pregnant. I miss the belly and the rib kicks and I miss the way people looked at me. It’s hard not to smile at a pregnant lady.
40. I’m struggling to choose between having another child and having money in the bank. My heart says one thing and my brain says another.
41. People often think I’m the mother of at least one of my two step-sons. I was only thirteen when he was born. It’s funny… and yet it is disturbing. Do I really look that old?
42. I often chew ice. I just googled it and apparently I should stop.
43. I have a terrible memory when it comes to most of my childhood.
44. Some might say it’s a coping mechanism, but I’d love to try to uncover those memories. Maybe through hypnosis?
45. I have migraines. It sucks.
46. I have seen specialists and tried numerous prescriptions, vitamins, biofeedback therapy, going to a chiropractor, acupuncture and even prayer. The only thing that has made them better is time. And sleep.
47. I wish I had the money and time to craft more.
48. I want to learn to crochet and am about to start a cross-stitch project. Knitting was a really big fail. UPDATE: Cross-stitch was cool, but embroidery is even better!
49. I have a really sensitive sense of smell. My stepdad says my mom and I are bloodhounds.
50. I have had glasses since I was 14. I didn’t wear them regularly until I was probably 19 because I felt like I could see just fine without them. Now, however, I feel like I’m completely blind without them (or contacts). My prescription has only slightly changed since I was a teen. I cannot believe I used to drive around like that, and even worse? Try to watch movies! ha!
51. If I could afford it, I would totally have plastic surgery to fix my ears.
52. Some friends and family say I’m crazy for that, but I think they’re just being nice. I'm trying to accept them though. Imperfections are beautiful, too.
53. I absolutely, positively hate going to the doctor. Any doctor. And yet, I’ve worked with them for the past 7 years.
54. When I was a toddler, I was bitten by my neighbor’s dog. I had to have plastic surgery to avoid a major scar from one end of my face to the other. It’s just looks like a dimple now.
55. Am I the only girl ever to not like The Dave Matthews Band?
56. I do, however, like bubblegum pop music. It’s my weakness. Love you Brit-Brit! ha!
57. My friend and I used to call my house when nobody was home and sing Britney Spears, NSYNC and Backstreet Boys songs on the answering machine.
58. Oh, and we purposely sang off-key and in ridiculous voices. I’m sure my mom loved coming home to it.
59. Everything makes me cry. Or, at least, I always get a lump in my throat and have to struggle not to cry. Movies, commercials, blog posts, whatever. It’s a little ridiculous.
60. I don’t have a dishwasher, which makes me the official dishwasher since Hubby does most of the cooking. I used to hate it, but now I kind of like the alone time.
61. My kitchen is orange. I love orange.
62. My neighborhood is full of really large, old oak trees. It’s the only thing that makes me feel better about not living at the beach.
63. In one month, I will basically be debt free (other than one car payment and the house). I can’t wait! Yeah, that didn't last long...
64. And then shortly thereafter, we will jump right back into it so that we can slowly renovate the house. It’s so worth it. Or because anytime you pay one thing off, another breaks! Damn you, Murphy!
65. I have developed an obsession for white ceramic animals. Especially, birds. Namely, owls.
66. I have no interest in ever owning a Kindle, or anything like it. I love books. I love the way the old ones smell and when they’re new, I love the sound of cracking the spine. Plus, I already spend plenty of time looking at a screen, thankyouverymuch.
67. I’m totally jealous of stay-at-home moms. I can’t help it.
68. I don’t like Christmas music. I will only willingly listen to it a few days before Christmas, and even then, not for long periods of time. It gets to be like nails on a chalkboard real quick.
69. I would love to adopt one day. I hope that somehow I’ll be able to afford it.
70. Growing up, we had, at one point or another, dogs, cats, hamsters, a horse, two donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, a pot-bellied pig, parrots, a horny toad, two geese and a bearded dragon.
71. The sheep thought it was a dog. The turkeys were mean. The mama donkey once took off with me on her back and ran across twelve acres before coming to a screeching halt that sent me flying.
72. We also rescued baby raccoons from my grandparent’s house once. They had the softest hands and loved to climb up and sit on our shoulders with their faces in our hair. After a few weeks we sent them to a wildlife refuge but it was so much fun while it lasted.
73. I must have at least one piece of chocolate every. single. day.
74. I could alternate between pizza and tacos every day for the rest of my life and be quite happy. Fat, but happy.
75. My mom used to let my sister and I repaint our rooms several times a year. At one point mine was Pepto pink. Eventually, the entire wall ended up peeling.
76. I used to play Marco Polo in my room with my sister and friends. I would pretend like I was a dinosaur to make them laugh so that I could catch them.
77. My AP Euro History teacher in 10th grade told me I was too laid back to take her class. I took it anyway and got a B. Way to encourage your students, lady!
78. I actually tried out for cheerleading once. It was an awful experience.
79. I still struggle with my shyness, though most people don’t realize it until they get to know me better. I call that progress!
80. I have never met anyone with the same name as me.
81. I would love to take a ballet class. I think ballerinas are beautiful. Cracked and bleeding toes and all.
82. I laugh at women trying to walk in ridiculously high heels. The shoes may be sexy, but if you can’t walk in them? It kind of negates the whole thing.
83. The first thing I do when I get home is take off my jewelry, my shoes aaaand my bra.
84. I love getting dressed up. I wish I had more places to go that were worthy of all that effort.
85. I don’t know how to correctly use a curling iron.
86. I don’t usually cook because I can’t stand to touch raw meat. If I cook chicken, I cannot even eat it. That probably makes me a little weird, right?
87. I love peacocks. And quetzals.
88. If I had the nerve and a different job I would totally get a peacock tattoo. As in, almost a half-sleeve.
89. I also wish I could get my nose pierced again. That I have the nerve for. But still, the wrong job.
90. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very thankful for my job and I work with some great people.
91. My Dad may have what is referred to as Morgellons Disease. It is not widely recognized as a medical diagnosis.
92. I give blood on a regular basis. You should, too!
93. I have signed up to be a bone marrow donor just in case I am someone’s match.
94. I don’t really care much about football, but I hate the Gators with a passion. Also, I think Tim Tebow will eventually end up in a scandal. Just sayin…
95. My mom, she drives me crazy, but she is my best friend. And for the record, I drive her crazy, too.
96. My sister lives in Virginia. I want her to move home.
97. I used to have to sit at the table until I finished my brussel sprouts. I will never, ever eat them again.
98. When I was a kid, I had a tendency to cry wolf. I thought it was funny to pretend I was hurt and then get up and run away before one of my parents got to me.
99. Eventually I learned my lesson. I got stuck in the cable wires around our corral. I was upside down and the wires were twisted around my legs. I kept calling for help and my parents were laughing at me because they thought I was just playing. Man, did they feel bad!
100. This has taken me about 5 hours to write.
